Uni Patras – LMS

University of Patras is an Academic Institution with a worldwide impact, attracting thousands of students and a large number of Academic and Research Personnel actively involved in cutting edge Science, Innovation and Excellence.  University of Patras participates in all major European and National Scientific Programs with approximately 3000 research related personnel and state of-the-art infrastructure. The Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS) of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, in the University of Patras, Greece, is oriented on research and development in cutting edge scientific and technological fields. LMS is involved in a number of EU funded research projects in a variety of disciplines organized in different research groups. Particular emphasis is given to the cooperation with European industry.

Role in FreeWheel project

Manufacturer. LMS is responsible for the definition of the round robin parts, the regenerative CAx for closed loop process adaptation, the integration of the process and production infrastructures and for FreeWheel context recognition and capability assessment.
